Il prezzo è di sicuro molto vantaggioso, specie se si compara con la vecchia versione di Kinect che costa €249, probabilmente Microsoft vuole promuovere la sua ultima creazione.

Il Kinect 2.0 è progettato per funzionare unicamente con il software development kit 2.0 di Kinect per Windows e viene concesso unicamente in licenza, una modalità già utilizzata anche per il Kinect passato.
